Honeyfeet - Clap Hands (Wah Wah 45s)
1st February 2019
A: Clap Hands
B: You Go to My Head (Edit)
(Wah Wah 45s)
If I had a foghorn right now I'd blow the arse out of it. Only to alert as many interested parties with a set of working lugholes to wrap 'em both around the latest Honeyfeet release. That's using traditional means of communication of course. I'd like to cast the net much wider by featuring the release on this here website.
Featuring the commanding vocal of Irish chieftess Rioghnach Connolly, the lead track on this 45, 'Clap Hands' has the group snatch the masters from Tom Waits' clutches by yelling "Quick! Look over there!" before legging it into the horizon with what we now know is the next single. They treat Waits' masterful version with the respect it so richfully deserves but decide to paint an all together different sonic picture with that trademark Honeyfeet sound that's garnering new fans by the minute.
Jazz standard "You Go To My Head" also features on this release (tucked away on side B) has all the warmth and charm that you might expect when you hear that Honeyfeet have indeed covered "You Go To My Head". Again it's Connolly's effortless vocal delivery that sends us off somewhere that only Honeyfeet can, and we're all the better for it.
Tell your internet pals that this this 45 is limited to just 100 hand-stamped copies. Head on over to the Honeyfeet Bandcamp page to secure yours today!
