Celebrating one year of monthly 45 Kings parties dedicated to 100% 7" vinyl sets played out on the beautiful 212 Cafe & Bar analogue sound system. All the city's top 45s DJs have spun there in the last year at a cool little intimate party (80 capacity venue), hosted by longtime Leeds/UK jazz/soul/funk/latin music DJ and promoter Lubi Jovanovic (DJ Lubi). 

For this birthday party Lubi reunites with his old jazzdance/DIG! Family DJ brother Chico Malo who he's been spinning music with since 1984! Chico was part of the legendary DIG! Family crew of Leeds alongside Lubi, Gip Dammone and Eric Speak (Ez) from 1984 to 2001. They ran jazz/soul/latin/funk up north for over 17 years. In the last decade, he's been resident DJ every Saturday at his packed "Root Down" session at Smokestack Leeds. Loves sharp 1960s suits and is a heavy duty funk 45 collector, the man has tunes. Good to have him back at 45 Kings for the third time in a year.

Mark Hepworth has been working in music for over 25 years, first playing in bands, then owning various record shops and finally being a professional DJ since 2006. Hi-Life Entertainment is his DJ and events agency and he splits his time between DJing events/private  parties and bar/club sessions. Big jazz fan and northern soul/funk collector with a deep knowledge of the music he plays. First time at 45 Kings.

DJ Lubi has been around for over 3 decades now. Spinning jazz, soul, global beats, funk, hiphop and of course, Latin music. One of the top UK salsa DJs for 3 decades, he's got 45 Latin music compilations to his name including 8 for the legendary Fania Records label. Longtime DIG! Family member, his roots are jazz but he also he love soul, funk, boogie, hiphop and reggae. Resident and host of The 45 Kings for a year now, he also hosts the big Soul Rebels live gigs in the city (featuring everyone from Ed Motta, Jose James and Omar live alongside local heroes like The Haggis Horns and Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra).
