Let’s start it like this, son. The start of the year is already busy with a slew of great new releases that you need to hear and today the focus is on the delightful Delights label. Their latest 45 features Brighton’s Beta Hector Ensemble in what is their first release in over seven years. It’s been worth the wait however you’ll be glad to hear. MNP bassist Simon Hill has assembled a crew of able bodied deviants for this must have double sided 45.
On the downtempo bubbler ‘King Lunp Theme’ they lead us down a wormhole of intrigue and mystery and sonic confusion that’s well with keeping with the Delights output to date. On ‘Into The Light’, we’re treated to a raw, hypnotic jazz groove that leaves us floored. This one demands repeat playback. Let’s not wait another seven years for a follow up guys, your music needs to be heard far more frequently than that!
