What draws us instantly to a label like Jazz Room is that no genre or topic is off limits and they flex their artistic muscle on this their latest must have double sider. Jazz Room have influences that run deep and if they choose to go in a certain direction then they drive forward with the force of a million hurricanes. 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is a perfect blend of genres combining heavy drums, and some metal flute that we have to thank producer Chip Wickham for. It really does tick all the boxes for us. On the flip, El Chavo delivers a glorious boogaloo latin jazz version of the Lonnie Smith track. El Chavo's take on 'Hola Muneca' has everything we love in a boogaloo track from piano chops, an infectious bass line, and percussion that keeps you moving.
