Boca 45 AKA Scott Hendy is by no means a producer who rests on his laurels and he’s been busy in the studio cooking up his latest project entitled ‘2020 Donuts’. Throughout the year Boca 45 will release a series of five limited edition coloured 45s (all stamped and numbered) under the ‘2020 Donuts’ project that will surely fly off the shelves if indeed any copies are left after preorder.
The first 45 from ‘2020 Donuts’ is the supa-charged ‘Powerful’. Hannah Williams, who was recently sampled on Jay-Z’s Grammy-nominated song ‘4:44’ provides the vocals on this menacing, unhinged slo-burner. Ms. Williams vocal delivery is underpinned by the clever use of sample tricknology at Boca’s disposal. Simply put, this is a perfect fit and a great choice for the first release from this funk fuelled fanatic. Flip the 45 over for 'Sparky Evans'. Sparky is a breakbeat sample-laden kaleidoscopic adventure underpinned with some heavy, heavy drums that will appeal to fans of Edan and Cut Chemist.
