Dre Day is finally here and there are a slew of parties around the globe to celebrate the producer's life and legacy in places like Nashville and Los Angeles to name just a couple. You may hear Breakdown Brass' funky reconstruction of Snoop's and Dre's 'Next Episode' at the Echoplex this weekend if you're one of the lucky few with a ticket. We at 45 Live are big fans of this ensemble since their first 45 on Kept Records back in 2015 which sold out super fast so this release is welcome news for those who were fiending for a copy since then.
The good folk at Mixto Records saw the gap in the market and have decided to revive the 'in demand' 45 on their own label. On the flip is an original composition penned by bandleader Nadav Nirenberg entitled'Monmouth' which encompasses elements of the boom bap drums and a heavy, heavy outernational jazz vibe that leaves us wanting more!
