Let's hail the glorious return of Battle Weapons Records and indeed their latest signing, the mysterious Cheeky Boy. This little scamp has served up a double dose of doozies that willl turn a small mingling into a heaving crowd when dropped in the club. 'Once Upon A Plastic Time' channels all that curious Byrne braggadocio into a glorious party DJ track thanks in no small part to some sample source action that perfectly compliments the Heads groove. THAT vocal sample is FIRE! Flip the 45 over for another Cheeky Boy cut entitled 'Coffeee Kiss'. This caffeine-fuelled party cut finds our hero asking his teacher for a peck on the cheek for bragging writes in the playgroud. I mean, we've all beeen there.
If only I had a smidge of the talent Cheeky Boy has when I was his age. What a star in the making and what a find for the talent spotters at Battle Weapons.
