We take you now to deepest New Orleans where our hero Professor Shorthair has been busy setting the world to rights through the art of movin’ butts. You could argue that the Prof’s aim is to bum rush the charts with the finest soul and funk heat rocks ever committed to wax. He has scoured the planet for the players to achieve his goal. He has turned down bounty hunters, smugglers and galaxy worn vagrants in his bid to find the ultimate dream team crew to complete the mission. Fast forward fifty years and we now have the fruits of that mission. With super-charged all round funkyman Jay "J-Zone” Mumford on drums, Breakestra’s Dan Ubick on guitar, The Sandollars' Julius Augustus on bass, Orgone’s Dan Hastie on organ, Steve McCormick on dobro it’s fair to say that we consider ‘For The Wicked’ to be the strongest release from the NOLA Breaks camp to date. Oh, did we fail to mention that Cali’s Rakaa Iriscience from supercrew Dilated Peoples provides the raps? Yeah! There’s that nugget of information too.
