I'm heading straight to the B side for this new release on Spasibo Records out of St. Petersburg, and a slice of 1971 jazz from the Czechoslovak Radio Jazz Orchestra. A wonderfully funky yet subtle Rhodes led, brass heavy tune, laced with meandering call and response trumpets, tough drums and complete with a couple of tasty breaks too! It's the first time I've come across this orchestra, but on the strength of this jazz fusion nugget, further investigation will follow. Amazing sound on this too, like a Rudy Van Gelder production. Fans of CTI, Mainstream et al. step right in.
