Simon Ward aka Dr Rubberfunk continues his quest in music making with a fine release to add to his catalogue that stretches way back in time, he's consistently been there throughout the UK's club culture for 20+ years, from acid jazz to trip-hop and big beat, to funk n' soul and beyond. This 45 sees him get all collaborative, notably with Ben Castle (Roy Castle's son) on Saxophone who lays down some gorgeous meandering sax lines over 'Canvas Cathedral'. Meanwhile on the flip, soul and blues singer Izo FitzRoy joins in on the act for a downbeat low slung soul joint. Rounded off with some bonus beats of 'Canvas' to get jiggy with, it's a solid 45 for sure.
