One of the soundest fellas in the game, Simon Ward aka Dr Rubberfunk is back again with a wonderful 45 on Jalapeno. 'How Beautiful' rocks along at a tidy pace with crispy breakbeat drums, jazz guitar and spacey flourishes for a breaks-meets-electronica gem. Whilst over on the flip even crispier drums underpin some southern blues flavours on 'Pressure Cooker', an organ grinding downbeat ditty where I keep expecting to hear Howling Wolf to growl out some vocals.
