Espen Horne - Bakeren (Wah Wah 45s)

Espen Horne
A: Bakeren
B: Bergen Sunrays

(Wah Wah 45s)

The life of Espen Horne up to this point is certainly one that has intrigued us here at 45 Live HQ and it’s a life we’ve always had a curious fascination with. He is now in the bosom of the creative eagles at Wah Wah 45s and it is here that a new jazz path will be forged. We can’t think of a more fitting home for Monsieur Horne. We will endeavour to provide some background on how we've come to this point for Espen and Wah Wah 45s. Back in the 90's Horne was a promising goalkeeper who attracted interest from almost every major European club thanks to his heroics for his local Norweigan club. The name Espen Horne on the team sheet would strike fear into the most seasoned of forwards but before his prime a crippling injury forced him into retirement. In the winter of 2005 under the name Bobby Hughes, he and a number of other retired footballers started up a digestive biscuit start up called Bobby Hughes Baleiric Biscuits. Jazz loving digestive consumers could send away their biscuits tokens to receive a Baleiric Biscuits 45 through the post! Unfortunately, a trademark dispute with a rival biscuit company forced Espen to fold the company and give his music his full attention. A decision we are so grateful for because now we have this beautiful hand stamped forty-five on Wah Wah 45s that is available to pre order on the label's Bandcamp page. It's a triumphant return for the mighty Espen Horne who's genius continues to baffle us. All hail Espen Horne!
