As the first month of 2021 comes to a halt, the good folk at Wax Thematique come correct with the goods for their 'Funkways Series'. The crew go by the name Lucky Mystery Now Orchestra and this really is as funky as it gets. From the pen of Joel Ricci comes his latest project and the first 45 release for the label. Let's hope it's not their last. More funk in the trunk than you dear reader can handle , 'La People' is most definitely a track to get the dance floor cookin’. Add in some dusty flute meanderings and a funky guitar lick and voila! We’ve got another classic 45 in the makin'. The flip, 'Cool Jun' has all the hallmarks of a cool out 70's soundtrack which takes you to every dark and greasy sidewalk with each change up. Vibey, full of fatback drums and that funky piano, it's a win-win from us. What's on offer is a double sprinkling of goodness that we’ve come to expect from this man.
