Matasuna Records have been putting out a slew of funky forty-fives for quite some time now. Today we travel to Monterrey via Berlin for today's musical treat as we wax lyrical about this forgotten heat rock recorded in 1971 by La Tribu entitled 'No Te Quiero Mas (I Don't Want You More). The original 45 will set you back a melting pot of gold coins but thanks to the soul mining team at Matasuna Records in Berlin it is now available to own at a fraction of the cost. From the very off, this crew of vagrants let loose for an uptempo latin soul track with it's unrelenting passion and breaks for days. Doubles are a must for those who like to go back and forth with style. Watch this one blow up on the dancefloor thanks to a driving horn section, some fatback drums and just a pinch of organ. With Leopoldo 'Polo' Sánchez Labastida on vocal duties this track has all the makings of a summertime smash. On the flip, Matasuna some time collaborator Voodoocuts remixes the track for maximum dancefloor effect to transform it into a DJ friendly version.
