If there was ever a record with the intention of deliverying a sensory overload for the listener it's this Cream Dream double-sider from Lakim and BoomBaptist. Lakim (Soulection) comes correct with all guns blazing paying tribute to Rick James with 'I'm Rick James, Bitch' with some sublime out-this-world type drum chops that bang hard. Lakim flips the original James production so lovely. Big tune.
On the flip, Austin's finest beatmaker BoomBaptist (Komfort Food) brings our Motown hero bang up to date with this smoked-out dusted production that the great man would surely co-sign in an instant. He comes at this project fully packed with the illest drums and a choice sample toolbox featuring Meth n' Red amongst others.
