It's always a good day when a new Moar joint unexpectedly lands on the doormat. And with this instalment, we're up to the letter 'i' in the alphabetically titled series of disco edits.
Moar's skilful hands and exceptionally well-trained ears combine beautifully on all of his edits, and this is no exception. Full of space and room to breathe, the A-side's 'i' is a deep house/disco number and is a sparkling gem of a track. I can't tell you what the sources are, but the xylophone layered and looped over the dubby beats is a sweet spot you'll want to taste over and over. It could be a warm-up track, mixed into a peak time set, and is most definitely one for the late late late-night set.
Over on the flip Jocelyn Brown's 'Somebody Else's Guy' has been beautifully re-rubbed by Moar, this phattens and tightens an already phat and tight classic groove with some electro flourishes. A very respectful mix and one which Jocelyn might even sanction for an official release if she heard it?!
All in all, it's a wicked 45, and only 100 copies of this one, don't sleep.
