Bahama's based Raphael Munnings, also know as Ray Munnings, was one of the guys behind the incredibly successful 'Funky Nassau' by Beginning Of The End, a worlwide smash hit in 1971. But here the prolific Athens Of The North label have gone digging and turned up 4 lesser known tracks from Ray, and boy oh boy, it's great stuff! 'Opportunity Knockin' is pure island soulful funk, it's almost reggae in a way, and certainly a lilting put-a-smile-on-your-face groover. Track 2 turns up the funk with 'Sleep On, Dream On', a dancefloor winner that was featured on the excellent Henry Stone's Miami Sound compilation last year. Track 3 'Takin' You Higher...' has a joyous carnival vibe whilst the last cut 'Loneliness' drops the tempo and delivers a reflective soul number. All in all a superb double pack 7", feel good music of the highest order.
