Madrid based outfit Sinouj come through thanks to this Lovemonk release and their sound fuses contemporary jazz, funk, rock and West African grooves. This tight outfit bring the sound of the Mediterranean on this release entitled 'Hak Dellali' that first came to prominence in the 80's thanks to Tunisian artist Hedi Habbouba with Emirati artist Hussain Al Jassmi also getting in on the act later on. It's fair to say that Sinouj nails the track, exploring African rhythms and more on this one, the record is a trip back into history, holding the hands of the aforementioned Habbouba and Al Jassmi along the journey. A call to the elders and a nod to the future, these musicians will move you no doubt. Flip this forty-five over for a dancefloor-primed remix from the man Voodoocuts who delivers his own special take on this record. Far out sounds from distant places with grooves in spades. That's Sinouj. 'Hak Dellali' is the first in what we hope is a string of releases for the Lovemonk label.
