Echo Chamber Recordings has a new sub-label out titled Echo Lab, and here's the debut release to set the scene. The production team of Si Cheeba and WeeG have got together in the studio to construct a couple of hot belters ready for the dancefloors and festivals this summer. And it's a case of far eastern flavoured percussive nosebleed madness and a cut-n-paste head nodder/foot stomper.
The A side 'Hi-Jakarta' rollocks along at 140bpm with a killer bassline underscoring raucous percussion, and a touch of overly loud Indian movie vibes! This is a party in one track to put it bluntly, absolutely mental! Just don't play it early doors :)
Meanwhile over on the flip, the guys are channelling a little bit of Boca 45 with 'Rockin' Roots'. A raw jerkin', body-poppin' cut-n-paste stew of vocal drops with scratchy drums. Sounding very much like an 80s hip hop electro jaunt from producers having fun in the studio.
If Echo Lab is going to be exploring sounds that juxtapose like thius, then I'm fully in. Nice one chaps.
