In what must be heralded as a triumphant return to form (did their form ever dip?) Bristol's The Allergies are back with an earth shattering double-sider that all crates around the world need in their collective bellies. If street-tuff drum breaks and fuzzy-felt funk is what turns your ears in a vertical position than look no further than this latest release from the dynamic do-gooders DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat.
Armed to the back teeth with the funky toolbox that every other producer craves, they have carved out a shiny gold nugget of a 45 that has us screaming ‘YIPEE’ and tapping our heels together in mid-air. On ‘Love Somebody’ they cherry-pick a sanctified soul sample and underpin it with some seasoned breaks interweaving some major league scratching for an all round funk-mode belter! On the flip, ‘Promised Land’ the chaps take us by the hand and bring us on our journey inside their creative minds. One that features a soaring diva, a funky tambourine and a toe-tappin’ soul clap.
