Not ones for resting on their laurels and waiting for the latest royalty cheque to come through the door, the merciless Mushi 45 label are back again to present a juicy slice of upfront afro funk to please fans of the label old and new. The track bangs, plain and simple and it's with great pride and excitement that we can now finally wax lyrical about 'Ashadwa' by The Ethiopian Brothers.
Although this is the label's fourth release it is the first to feature The Ethiopian Brothers who are a brand new collective of musicians that was formed by the mysterious Soupe Sowell who as it turns out also wrote and produced this track. Rapid fire drums and a funky bassline and sax set the pace before the congas, sax and stylophone usher in the vocal. Pure fire! But please don't take my word for it.
