Straight from NYC via Aachen Germany, this unusual all 45s mix by Sticky Dojah will open your minds to the vintage music of Iran.
The reason this mix is called "Forbidden Sounds" is exactly that - this wonderful music from the late 60s to the late 70s out of Iran is still banned by the current Government to this day. The possession and distribution of vinyl records within Iran is not allowed and a lot of copies were destroyed. Also several of the active artists like Googoosh (see picture) suffered under the regime. This mix was done as an hommage to the wonderful and inspiring artists that made music in Iran during the pre-revolution years.
