The Joe Tatton Trio
'Bang Bang Boogaloo' / 'Sunday Shade'
Brit jazz funkers extrordinaire The New Mastersounds' Joe Tatton who rocks hammond, piano and all manner of keys, now has his own side project going on. How he finds the time when NMS seem to be constantly touring the USA is anyones guess but The Joe Tatton Trio is very much a fully formed and accomplished 3 peice, and boy oh boy, is 'Bang Bang Boogaloo' a joy. Sitting in the Ramsey Lewis school of piano led dancefloor jazz, this fantastic groove has shades of 'Wack Wack', with the latin soul rhythm from Sam Hobbs on drums and Neil Innes on double bass underpinning Joe's fluid piano work. It also features The Sorcerer's Pete Williams and Submotion Orchestra's Danny Templeman on Percussion. A subtle yet bursting with enegry track that will have the ability to rock a dancefloor if dropped right, yet also cater for laid back home listening. The flip 'Sunday Shade' does what it says on the tin, lazy Sunday morning vibes, lovely stuff.
